2023 australian tour with powerful partnerships
The staff of Gordon International School in Papua New Guinea embarked on their Powerful Partnerships Australian Education Tour with a tour of a High-Performing School, St Andrew's Catholic College in Cairns. This was followed by an Effective Pedagogy Professional Learning session at the Sheridan Hotel. Our tour continued on day 2 with another Professional Learning Day around Better Teaching Better Learning.
Their motto "Change the World One Lesson @ a Time" has served as a basis for our work.
This was such an inspirational opportunity working with such dedicated educators. Thank you Gordon International School for allowing me the privilege to lead this work!!

“Amazing 2 day workshop” Alesana, Teacher GIS
Broome cluster conference 2023
key note speaker
With over 270 delegates it was my honour to begin the conference with a key note address, followed by the facilitation of three workshops.
My keynote address titled “But What Can I Do?” looked at some of the alarming statistics in education today around teacher fatigue, burnout, retention and workloads. And whilst we can throw our hands up in the air and say “but what can I do?” We can also choose to be the change. It explored the things we can control (our own attitude and behaviours) and the things we can influence in our schools (Supporting each other, creating pathways, encouraging collaboration) and much more.
The feedback was heartwarming. As tough as it feels at times, we CAN be the change.
“Jodie delivered a Keynote and 3 concurrent sessions to staff from the Broome Independent Public Schools in the West Kimberely for their annual conference. Jodie is a relatable, passionate and enthusiastic presenter. She was extremely prompt with all communication in the lead up the conference. Jodie presented a keynote to over 270 staff about Wellbeing. It was relevant, current, confronting and reflective - What we can do? It was a fantastic way to start the conference. Her 3 sessions on Managing Parent Conflict, Effective Pedagogy and Leadership created lots of conversation and had many take aways to inspire staff. We have had an overwhelming positive response about her presentations.”

We engaged Jodie to support our Diverse Learning Department (approximately 30 staff – Teachers and Support Aids) once a term for the 2021 school year. Jodie supported the group in establishing our department vision and values. Jodie is professional, engaging and a passionate advocate for teaching and learning. We covered a range of topics throughout the year – every one of them valuable. The feedback from staff has been incredibly positive. I highly recommend Jodie and Powerful Partnerships.

I attended the Powerful Partnerships Coaching & Mentoring Workshop with Jodie at the start of the year alongside my deputy principal. We found it so engaging and useful that we then organised to have Jodie come out and speak to our whole staff. She is a wonderful presenter and incredibly knowledgeable about how to support teachers and executives to improve their teaching through coaching and mentoring. Staff left the meeting with a wealth of new information, and we've even had many requests to attend the full day workshop to learn more. I highly recommend Jodie and look forward to working with her in the future.

Conflict to Collaboration Workshop: Our workshop with Jodie was both informative and practical. One of my experienced teachers commented that they wished this was offered when they first started their teaching career. Jodie facilitated in a professional, relatable and engaging manner. Staff were captivated from start to finish. Highly recommend this workshop for teaching staff, administration staff and school leaders. It is a workshop tailored to suit your needs and Jodie delivers in spades!

The Effective Pedagogy course run by Jodie was a fantastic way to ‘kick-start’ a new learning year. Teachers with a range of teaching experience found this course a way to refresh and confirm teaching practices and align classroom practices with current research. The feedback session was informative and provided new ways of engaging our students and ensuring they are involved in their learning journey. Thanks again!!

I first attended a Powerful Partnerships Professional Learning workshop with Jodie in Mid-2019, in the area of Coaching and Mentoring. I was so impressed with her knowledge, engaging presentation style and practical approach to Coaching, Mentoring and school Leadership that I knew the Staff at Emmanuel would benefit from having Jodie come into our College and run a session. Jodie spent a day with our College Leaders in January 2020, working with them to increase their knowledge and skills in the area of Coaching and Mentoring. Assisting our staff to enhance their capacity as teachers is a high priority for us at Emmanuel Catholic College and this recent workshop with Jodie really empowered our College Leaders to do so.

Northern Territory Remote School Principals Conference
A wonderful opportunity to lead a 2 day conference for all remote school principals of Northern Territory in March, 2019.
“Jodie developed a workshop covering Coaching and Mentoring, Leadership and Managing Conflict for the Teaching Principals of 24 small, remote schools. Jodie has spent some time at Imanpa School in 2018 and again this year, so has developed an understanding of the Teaching Principal role. Teaching Principals are generally full time teachers and have significant administration and ‘principal’ workloads on top of their normal classroom duties. Over the two days, Jodie developed relationships with many of the Teaching Principals and we are excited to continue our work with her throughout Central Australia to work with individual schools and with the whole group.”

If you want worthwhile, relevant and valuable Professional Development for your staff and colleagues, do yourself a favour and host Jodie Davey from Powerful Partnerships. You will not be disappointed. I had the pleasure of attending a 2 day Professional Development Workshop run by Jodie in Darwin in 2018. I was so impressed by her presentation, I couldn't stop talking about it to my superiors in Alice Springs, and anyone else who I happened to run into. I organised for Jodie to spend a week at Imanpa School in remote Northern Territory where I was Teaching Principal, and invited Teaching Principals and Regional office staff to attend. It soon became apparent to those who turned up why I was so impressed. Jodie has an excellent presentation style and readily shares her extensive knowledge of her subject matter. The Effective Pedagogy, Coaching and Mentoring and Leadership workshops make you stop and think seriously about yourself in these positions. "Would I want to be led by me" is a very powerful message and one that has remained embedded in my brain. Jodie has also gone on to present to all Teaching Principals and Regional Office staff from the southern half of the Northern Territory and has had a big impact. She continues to share her knowledge by being invited to work with other remote schools in the Northern Territory.

Jodie is a highly professional and engaging presenter who is passionate about improving teacher practice. Jodie was approachable and flexible in planning the workshop in collaboration with the leadership team. She presented a one day coaching workshop that was differentiated to meet the needs of our staff and shared personal experiences and examples to demonstrate the effectiveness of coaching. The workshop allowed staff to reflect, practise and implement new learning. We all enjoyed a productive and comprehensive day and look forward to working with Jodie and Powerful Partnerships again in the near future!

Jodie presented to the Pastoral Leaders at Daramalan College on the themes of Leadership and moving communication from Conflict to Collaboration. Her presentation is professional, relational, specific and has developed the capacity in our team. Jodie also showed flexibility in tailoring the content to meet our context and our desired outcomes of the day. The College is thankful to have a relationship with an inspiring and knowledgeable presenter and we endorse her services to others.

Jodie developed a customised Leadership workshop for our diverse leadership team. It was an inspiring day looking at effective leadership attributes, teamwork and having difficult conversations. Every member of our team was highly engaged and got a lot out of the day. In our regular meetings we now set aside time to reflect and discuss our leadership skills to develop and improve together. Jodie’s experience, passion and professionalism were greatly appreciated. We are already planning how we can work with Jodie with our Leadership team and aspiring leaders in the future to build capacity and support professional learning. Thank you Jodie.

Wonderful opportunity to have Jodie work with our staff on their second day of return to work for the year! The presentation was engaging, exciting and powerful, with the message of pedagogy, collaboration and goal setting high on the agenda... can’t thank you enough for motivating our staff at RGGS... worth every cent and more... I’m booking in early for next year- this girl is going to be busy! Thank you for breaking our data trends down to easily accessible information for our staff! An absolute gem!

I have attended some great, and not so great, Professional Development over the course of my career and I just wanted to let you know your PD day was certainly up there with the best! It was so refreshing to be actively involved in the learning and to have the opportunity to apply this to our own curricula contexts during the actual day. Unlike so much PD, I walked away from this day having improved my teaching practice in a very tangible way! Thank you Jodie for being so in touch with how busy we are as teachers and developing a presentation which embraced this and subsequently inspired actual change!

"I am writing to thank you for your contribution to the Professional Orientation Week, 2015. As a result of the time that you have given in preparation for, and during your presentation at Professional Orientation Week, our students have been able to add to their knowledge not only about matters that have a bearing upon their final Professional Experience, but also about the various issues that are so important for them to understand regarding the Teaching Profession which they will soon enter. Your presentation is highly valued by both the staff and our students, especially our students as they prepare to step into the workforce as Teachers. Thank you once again for your important contribution to the success of the College of Arts, Society & Education’s 2015 Professional Orientation Week in Townsville."
Christine Bird | Team Leader, Academic Services College of Arts, Society and Education | James Cook University
Hi Jodie, I just wanted to thank you again for another great presentation/workshop around developing our learning framework. The staff really are getting involved in the process, and that is thanks, in a large part, to your enthusiastic presentation style and depth of knowledge. It really has been great working with you again this year, you just help make everything seem so manageable for me as a curriculum developer. Your advice and guidance have been invaluable.

Jodie, you were just amazing today, thank you so much. Everyone was buzzing afterwards. Also, speaking with my friends in Mt Isa, it seems you made a similar impression on them. I'm very grateful we have you in our leadership teams.
